Mission Statement

The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department is driven to build and maintain a foundation within the community that provides trust, transparency, and safety to all citizens. The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department will consistently train, educate, and be a positive role model for others. Community policing is important to our Department and, most importantly, our town, for this allows relationships to be built and our community to become stronger daily. The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department is dedicated to being approachable, respectful, and professional, as we will be a safe and welcoming place for all.

Full-time Patrol Officers

Our full-time Police Officers respond to calls for service, conduct traffic stops, investigate suspicious activity, investigate traffic crashes, and perform other duties as required.

Reserve Officers

Our Reserve Officers are comprised of community members, full-time, and retired police officers who wish to volunteer as Reserve Police Officers. These officers supplement our full-time officers. They patrol in vehicles, on foot patrols, or bicycle patrol.
